FLOX + VoteClimate [Sat 9/7 & Sun 9/8]

FLOX is coming to Governors Island. Join us for a special design sprint for VoteClimate. Lunch is on us, ideas are on you!

Join us for a special FLOX LAB on VoteClimate.

We're inviting YOU to dine, discuss, and design for social impact. We'll be turning our attention to VoteClimate, a new platform that's activating New Yorkers to vote their climate politics.

We've been generously gifted Nolan House 4B, the House of Solutions, to use as our first-ever pop-up space. The weather forecast is 78 degrees and sunny, and we’re looking forward to a joyous few days of illuminating conversations, porch side lemonade, and dappled shade on a freshly cut lawn. We’ll be elevating the power of community-based innovation [FLOX’s special sauce] by organizing interactive activities with friends, families, and passersby.

WHEN
Open Hours: 11am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday
FLOX Labs: 1pm on Saturday and Sunday (please RSVP!)

WHERE

What's Happening on Governors Island?
FLOX will run its signature LAB, a salon-style design sprint, over a vegetarian lunch in the House of Solutions - Nolan Park House #4B. We will focus on VoteClimate: a freshly launched platform that's activating climate-concerned New Yorkers to take action in the political arena. We’ll be asking questions and exploring design solutions around the theme: How can we better support and inform NYC residents to vote their climate politics in the primaries and midterms, as well as in local and state elections?  Learn more

What is VoteClimate? They're a progressive platform that is activating climate-concerned New Yorkers to take action in the political arena. VoteClimate provides actionable insights at the state and local levels so voters can learn about the candidates and policies that align with their climate politics. Learn more

Who should come? ALL ARE WELCOME!

FLOX LAB: Designing Democracy

Join us to accelerate ideas at the intersection of democracy, community and civic participation. With the 2020 elections looming - how do we ensure that young voters are active in national election - and also local civic governance. What will it take to shift the narrative from "young people don't vote" to young people are leading and driving decisions for our democracy.

This event is hosted in partnership with a Design For America. $15 tickets now available!

FLOX RITES: The Power of Personal Narrative

FLOX RITES is a dinner salon style conversation exploring how we can mark rites of passage and build community through writing. The question is - how can writing community be a source of strength, resilience and celebration. In a moment where social isolation is emerging as a global public health crisis - the night will include some light journaling and heavy scheming on how to build more connections through personal narrative.
